And what about the CUPEU collective agreement?
November 19, 2007
The CUPEU collective agreement will expire in just over six months. We are hoping, therefore, to be in negotiations for a new collective agreement by mid-February 2008. If you are a CUPEU member, you have probably noticed that the negotiations and mobilization committees are back in business. The Negotiations committee has been reaching out to the CUPEU membership for input on the upcoming negotiations And the Mobilization Committee has begun uniting us with their "Join the Pros" invitation to the November 29th general assembly at Bollywood on Lincoln Street.
If you have not already submitted some ideas to the negotiations committee(and, to be honest, even if you have), please reflect on the following "thought ticklers" (thank you, Diane Sole). See what ideas come to mind. and, please, send the negotiotiations committee (via Charlie Brown <pcbrown-at-alcor> or Geoff Selig <gls-at-alcor>) any and all thoughts, suggestions, or comments you may have. The "ticklers" are:
- things I want kept and the language seems to be working;
- things I want kept but the language was weak and management has found a way round them;.
- things I would ask for as a because another group has it or because it is something professional employees deserve;
- things we already have that I would give up to get the things I really want; and, last but not least,
- things we don't have that I really want.
Let's be Pro-Active!
